All Charity Event Raises More Than $180K

Annual Teamster Outing Supports Statewide, National Charities

Teamsters Joint Council 25 ended its summer with a bang, raising more than $180,000 with its annual All Charity Event last month.

At White Pines Golf Course in Bensenville, more than 300 Teamster members and supporters joined Joint Council 25 in its commitment to support a host of statewide and national charities. In recent years, the union has distributed event proceeds to more than 84 charities, including funding for autism, leukemia and cancer research.

“The Teamsters’ All Charity Event is an extraordinary opportunity for union members and supporting employers to come together for the common good,” said John T. Coli, President of Joint Council 25. “The Teamsters are grateful to all of the members, volunteers and advocates who continue to enrich our communities by pledging their charitable support.”

More than 80 businesses and labor unions joined this year’s 6th Annual All Charity Event as official sponsors, committing tens of thousands of dollars in funding and donated services. Participants also joined together the day of the event to raise more than $8,000 for the Helmets to Hardhats Wounded Warrior Program, a national project supporting disabled veterans by providing career opportunities in the building and construction trades.

Charitable recipients of the Teamsters’ All Charity Event, which was chaired this year by Brian Meidel, President of Teamsters Local 734, and Stephen E. Pocztowski, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 705, include: the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial, Autism Speaks, Breast Cancer Network of Strength, Children’s Home & Aid Society of Illinois, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Make-A-Wish Foundation, James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the Annual Catholic Appeal and Yatooma’s Foundation for the Kids, among many others.

Teamsters Joint Council 25 represents more than 100,000 hardworking men and women throughout Illinois.
